We’re thrilled to launch a new blog series in partnership with Ambassador Justine Mulliez! Living Her Adventure will profile women in and beyond the outdoor industry who are living their fullest lives and pushing their limits. Meet Justine below and learn more about this exciting collaboration!
Tell us about yourself, Justine!
I’m Justine, a soon to be 29-year-old French/American outdoors woman currently redesigning her life. After spending 6 years in the Alps working in the events sector of the action sports industry, I relocated to San Francisco last September to be closer to family and to begin transitioning out of the action sports marketing world and into community programming/ wilderness therapy/ coaching. I’m on a mission to live a life more in tune with what I value most; nature, creativity, relationships, challenge, and self-development, and want to help empower others do the same. An ex-perfectionist, I’m determined to try, fail, learn, and dabble in the outdoors with the same energy and urgency I had back when I was a child and didn’t know better.
Why did you decide to join The Cairn Project as an Ambassador?
The Cairn Project’s mission really resonates with me. Having had the privilege of spending a good portion of my life adventuring outside, I’ve experienced first hand the awesome power of the outdoors. I am who I am because of my trials, failures, and successes snowboarding, backpacking, biking etc. and I’m super excited to use my adventures as a means to support programs that enable other girls do the same.
You don’t need to be a pro athlete, or a ‘game changer,’ or a famous influencer in order to have a story to tell. We’re looking for women of all backgrounds, ethnicities, shapes, and life experiences who believe in the power of the outdoors and who want to help inspire other women do the same.
What is “Living Her Adventure”? And why is it important?
‘Living Her Adventure’ is a series of long-form interviews with women all over the US whose experiences in the outdoors have inspired them to take a leap, make a change, or take a stand, whether it’s through entrepreneurship, motherhood, a creative pursuit, or otherwise. Doing this was really important to me because growing up, I was rarely exposed to stories about complex women living fulfilled lives, designing their own formulas to live their best life. Thankfully, content in the outdoor space has evolved over the last few years to include more female oriented story telling and I’m really excited to add to that narrative, digging deeper into the outdoor experiences that shape women and examining how we design our lives be to as fulfilled as possible.
Is there anything else you want to add?

In March 2019, Ambassador Justine Mulliez set out to ski and splitboard the 33-mile Crater Lake Rim Route and find some extra elevation and good lines along the way. Read more Justine’s experience on her blog, Just A Wild Thought.
