About Paula Benedetti
My name is Paula, I am a recently graduated Argentine biologist and researcher. I have participated in two Antarctic campaigns aboard an Argentine icebreaker, studying Antarctic fauna. My passion is marine mammals, understanding the ocean, and spreading a message of love for the sea as far as possible. I am a swimmer—I’ve been one my whole life—and I also lift weights at the gym; I really enjoy music and painting with watercolors. My goal is to inspire women around the world by telling my story, so that they feel encouraged to dream bigger and bigger, no matter where they come from.
Diving into Marine Science and Empowering Women Outdoors
I am an Argentine biologist who has always been in love with the ocean. I was born in a small province inland, in a small town, and raised in a humble family. It wasn’t easy. Along my path studying biology, a series of people opened very special doors for me, changing the trajectory of my life. I am deeply grateful to those people and to the opportunities they gave me; without that help at the right moment, I wouldn’t be who I am today.
One of those doors allowed me to work in Antarctica for two summer campaigns, studying wildlife. It was the greatest adventure of my life—one that required a lot of hard work and took me on a journey of self-discovery that shapes who I am today.

Why Get Out and Give Back?
Nothing is big enough to stop you, and no dream is too big to dream. That is why I am dedicating my adventure to The Cairn Project – to give back to the world a piece of what it gave to me, and to make this message reach even further.
With any luck, I hope to inspire some of you, whether it’s to donate or to apply for grants to embark on your own adventure. To go after what seems impossible. Chase the impossible, relentlessly. So much so, that it becomes possible.
