Miles & Mantras: One Mile. One Mantra. One Mission.
Detroit Free Press Marathon | October 2025
Hi, I’m Kerry! Runner, yogi, social worker, and Trailblazer with The Cairn Project.
This October, I’m running the Detroit Free Press Marathon and turning every mile into a mantra, a moving meditation chosen by YOU. Through my campaign, Miles & Mantras, I’m raising funds to help close the gender gap in the outdoors.
This mission resonates with me because I believe the outdoors is a powerful space for healing, growth, and self-discovery—especially for women who may not always feel seen or safe in those spaces. Elevating women’s voices and expanding access to backcountry experiences aligns with my values as a social worker, where empowerment and equity are at the heart of everything I do. Passing on the gift of outdoor adventure is a way of creating generational strength, confidence, and connection.
