About Wild Hearts Idaho

Wild Hearts Idaho offers a tuition-free, progressive outdoor leadership curriculum for girls ages 12-18. With expeditions ranging from day hikes to whitewater rafting to overnight snowshoeing and winter camping, each outdoor adventure organized by Wild Hearts focuses on supporting the development of a specific leadership and outdoor skill. An organization run by girls for girls, Wild Hearts Idaho is working to break down barriers to outdoor access, facilitating connections to Idaho’s wild landscapes for more young women.

"Wild Hearts Idaho is so important in today and tomorrow’s world, and I’m a firm believer that opportunities like this will shape the next generation of young women who will lead in our communities and beyond."

Onward and Upward for Idaho's Girls

Renewal funding from The Cairn Project will help Wild Hearts Idaho continue to expand its tuition-free programming: in 2021, this will include 18 adventure days for 100 young women! Continuing its traditions of full-day hiking, snowshoeing, and paddle boarding experiences, this year WHI has some exciting new offerings in development, including a kayaking expedition, a three-part indoor climbing program, and a weeklong wilderness trail project in collaboration with the Idaho Trails Association. Wild Hearts Idaho remains the only tuition-free, girls-only wilderness opportunity in the state!
