Why Join?
Led by Sunny Stroeer – endurance athlete, Grand Canyon guide, and founder of the Summit Scholarship – this guided Rim-to-River-to-Rim hike is a rare chance to experience the magic of a one-day canyon endurance hike with professional support. Usually, the Park Service doesn’t allow guided Rim-to-River-to-Rim events like this, but they make an exception for small group fundraisers like ours. That means this event is one of the only ways to take on a guided R2R or R2R2R in a day.
The GEA Alliance and the Summit Scholarship Foundation exist to create opportunity and access in outdoor adventure — connecting women, girls, and gender-diverse adventurers with life-changing experiences in the outdoors. By participating, you’re helping make it possible for the next generation of adventurers to chase big dreams, just like you’re doing now.

What You’ll Get
- A guided Rim-to-River-to-Rim* hike (minimum 17 miles and 10,000 feet of elevation change) with Sunny and another experienced Grand Canyon guide
- A small, supportive team environment with no more than 9 participants
- A detailed gear list and training recommendations
- Regular group Zoom check-ins with Sunny and your team mates to support your training and preparation
- Guidance on logistics for travel, pre-/post event lodging etc
- A deeply meaningful adventure that changes lives – including your own

What You’re Committing:
- To be fit, ready, and excited to head down into and back out of the Big Ditch on March 21, 2026
- A $1,000 minimum fundraising commitment (your $100 registration fee counts towards that total)

We believe nature should be for everyone.
We hope you’ll join us not just for the miles, but for the mission.
The first $1,000 of what you fundraise will go toward creating equitable access to outdoor adventure. Anything that you fundraise over that can be donated to a charity of your choice. You can support the Grand Canyon Conservancy North Rim Recovery Fund or any other nonprofit.
