Wild Hearts Idaho offers a tuition-free, progressive outdoor leadership curriculum for girls ages 12-18. With expeditions ranging from day hikes to whitewater rafting to overnight snowshoeing and winter camping, each outdoor adventure organized by Wild Hearts focuses on supporting the development of a specific leadership and outdoor skill. An organization run by girls for girls, Wild Hearts Idaho is working to break down barriers to outdoor access, facilitating connections to Idaho’s wild landscapes for more young women.

A second grant from The Cairn Project will continue support for Wild Hearts Idaho’s tuition-free program, which in 2019 will include 19 outdoor leadership and education experiences for 150 girls ages 12-18. This funding will also help to kickstart the 2020 season, including two snowshoe expeditions and a spring rock climbing program! Wild Hearts Idaho coordinates closely with schools, youth social service agencies, and other community groups to ensure that its program is inclusive and available for girls from diverse backgrounds. Transportation, gear, and clothing are provided for those who need it.
